Designing a friendship app to address loneliness in cities

As the design lead on this project, I built a scalable Figma email design system that empowered a cross-functional team to produce brand-consistent emails faster and with greater creative confidence.

PROBLEM

EF Tours' email design process lacked a unified system, leaving designers and copywriters without a shared, accessible foundation — resulting in inconsistent brand output and inefficient workflows.

Solution

I audited existing email guidelines and migrated components from Adobe XD into an intuitive Figma library, complete with an accessible light/dark color palette, reusable atoms, patterns, and developer handoff guidelines. Because much of the team was new to Figma, I prioritized ease of use alongside flexibility — making sure the system worked for copywriters and designers alike, not just power users.

impact

Reduced design friction across the team

Established a consistent brand presence across all email touch points to scale with the brand over time

Role

Senior Designer, UI

Team

Creative Directors, Digital Communications Manager

My Focus
  • Auditing the current suite of email design materials

  • Building a scalable design system for emails

Transitioning the brand color palette into an accessible palette that works on light and dark mode

Using variable modes, I adjusted our existing brand color palette to work for web accessibility standards and be consistent across dark and light modes. In addition, creating the color palette with variables allowed designers to quickly turn on and off the color modes during reviews and ensure users were having the best possible experience on any device.
